Procrastinator's united and now The big Reveal

The Lovely Miss Melissa @ The Inspired Room held a Procrastinator's Party and today is show off day .. She gave us two weeks to finish our projects and I must say I do hope she holds these parties often it sure helped get my butt moving. Some of my project have been going on all summer.

My big reveal

My blanket basket for the front porch it looks small in this picture but it's almost 3' tall

Oyster shells from past oyster roast yep we ate the little critters inside them.

They made a beautiful lamp

really ugly 1970 picture turned into

my interpretation of the Tybee lighthouse

This is the first time I have painted in years. I did it in acrylics.
did you notice the two seagulls they represent the hubby and I

my little desk cleaned up beautifully I love it beside the bed.

next....

Drop cloth bedspread .. I bought a 9 X 12 drop cloth washed it several times. I Cut 3ft off the 12ft side we have a king size bed and then glued a hem. If you haven't tried the E6000 glue it is awesome. I also glued quilt bidding tape to the edge for a finished trim.

this is the piece from the thrift sale which I am madly in love with ..lol

Tada ....The Finished room .... oh and those are drop cloth curtains ..

If you would like to see the before pictures you can check them out here ...

This was really fun and I look forward to checking out all of the other blogger's projects. Hope ya'll will join us over at The Inspired Room.

Have a fun day !

  3. I'm absolutly amazed! First of all, that you got so much accomplished...wow. But also...DROP CLOTHS?? I've seen people use them for curtains (yours look great, by the way), but as a bedcovering? With glued on edge binding? I never would have thought of such a thing! Brilliant!! And the result is stunning. I'm definitely going to have to pick up some of that glue that you recommend and get to gluing! :) Thanks for the inspiration!

  14. Boy, you've been a busy girl!
What a great job you did on everything. Tybee lighthouse/oysters, brought back fond memories of living in Savannah back in the 70's (Is that my old picture you painted over?) lol. (Peeking at the rest of your blog....great photography!)

  18. Okay, so it's just about oyster eating time again...I toss my shells in the flower gardens or in the bottom of containers. How long did you dry these to get the stink out? (All summer) Love all of your projects!!! Keep painting!!!

  19. Thank you so much for all the wonderful comments. I enjoyed doing all of the projects but painting is my favorite and with lots of encouragement from friends, family & ya'll maybe I will get back to it..lol

Miss Gail ~ I'm impressed.. I have yet to climb the Lighthouse and I have been here most of my life : )

Nannykim ~ I have washed and dried the bedspread/ drop cloth several times since my hemming/gluing and nothing is coming loose. I have not washed it since adding the trim but I feel pretty sure it will hold at least through a few washings but I have to warn ya this glue stinks. I had to hang the spread outside on the porch for a couple of days to let it air out some before I could put it on the bed.

"M" ~ I believe it is I saw a dandelion on the back of the frame ..lol

Miss Darla ~ I throw them in 5 gallon buckets filled with bleach and water let them sit for a couple of days then dump them on the drive rinse them well then bleach them again. I have been know to let them sit all winter.
(laziness) The longer they sit the prettier they become in my opinion.

    again thanks ya'll, Cherry
