Sunday Sunshine ~ January mators

While messing around yesterday pulling weeds
I found a single tomato plant/ limb full of green tomatoes.
I was very surprised since I thought I had cleaned
everything up from the summer garden..
I started to leave them but decided nope...
fried mators are going be part of our
 80 degree January supper..

I am really going to hate to see winter return.
The hubby cut the grass/ weeds yesterday the smell of fresh cut grass
along with the sunshine and the fragrance of my
Tea Olives which are in full bloom sure made it feel like a spring day..

I'm joining Miss Karen for Sunlit Sunday at her blog

I hope each of you have a wonderful and blessed Sunday.
hugs, Cherry

  1. Tomatoes in January! That thought boggles my mind, Cherry. You have me drooling for the fried green tomatoes I had when I was in Savannah (I really must return to that gorgeous city one day).

I'm glad you're back again this year for Sunlit Sunday. Good Luck in getting back the people you lost when you changed your blog address. Maybe you'll make some new friends through your participation here!

  2. Oh, boy -- tomatoes!!! My mother used to pick the green tomatoes before the first frost and wrap them in newspaper -- then the wait for them to ripen. She also picked the smallest ones. Thanks for the memories and happy sunlit Sunday!

  7. hi Cherry, Nice to meet you. Love the sunshine playing on your tomatoes. I had fried green tomatoes for the very first time in Beaufort S.C. while attending our SIL's graduation at Parris Island just a couple years ago...

  9. I just used up the last of my summer tomatoes which I brought in green and had turned red. Dreaming of this summer for fresh maters.

  10. A Georgia winter day sounds lovely - especially when you come across some fresh, still-growing tomatoes.

  13. Your time in the garden was well worth the effort - tomatoes! I harvested kale and leeks yesterday, but our tomatoes are long, long gone.
    Enjoy the respite from winter.

  14. I think winter is on its way back to our area. The rain has started and the temps have dropped a good bit since this afternoon.
What a lucky find with the maters.
