It's about 6 feet tall.

Deck updates

We got lots done this weekend the middle deck on Saturday the top deck and the privacy's fence Sunday afternoon.

This little spot is going to be my favorite morning spot. I did my yoga stretches out there this morning, did some bird watching and lots of thinking about when the rest of the deck is finished..

I see new flowerbeds everywhere :)

Now to find a new table & some chairs.

... Roofie says this pool needs to be cleaned cause it's going into the 90's this week just might want to go swimming.

Saturday deck work

Missing my friend Mr Ed

( no not the horse )

Mr. Ed & Miss Dot lived down the street and Miss Dot made one of the best pound cakes I have ever had the pleasure of eating .. We would fight at the church bake sales every year to get our hands on one.

The one and only year I got one I sliced it into thin pieces and put them in the freezer. I savored every bite of that cake right by myself.

thinking back I guess I never told anyone I had it .. lol

Mr. Ed & Miss Dot moved to the country last year so their family can help care for them. His gardens were cleaned out by the new owners time they moved in. I don't know what they did with all the lilies but driving past it looks so bare.

I can't help but be a little sad thinking what a shame the new owners never even saw them bloom, they never even knew what they had..

Mr Ed loves daylilies his gardens were full of them.
He loved for you to come visit and he loved to go visiting.

Time they would start blooming he would drive though the neighborhood looking to see who had what blooming.

Some morning he would stop and walk around and some mornings his knees would not let him walk so he would drive down the drive and just sit in the truck looking.

Some mornings he would catch me sitting in the back in my pj's & drinking coffee, some mornings it drove me crazy that he would show up while I was busy doing other things and I would have to stop and talk with him.

Beth remember all the mornings we would be talking on the phone and I would go hide from him.

One morning he & Miss Dot took me to see one of their friends gardens it was spectacular I had never seen so many dayliles in one place that were not for sale.

This morning as I walk around seeing the lily's start to bloom.

I can't help but wonder is there some young gardener in the country that has been stopped from her work this morning while a wonderful old man tells his tales of the gardens he once had ..

I sure hope so ... and I hope she has beds full of dayliles for him to enjoy...

both of these came from Mr. Ed

Happy wednesday ya'll

Lisa she walked in your house ?
now thats scary.

last year we had a drunk women drive into our back yard she got out of her car and started talking with my husband like she knew us, I was at the kitchen window and just thought

Who's that ... well she started pinching on my flowers and asking hubby could she have things..

He couldn't get in this house fast enough to get me
I gave her a few things and got her out of here ... lol

I can not find my little pot of yellow bells anywhere I had moved it a few times to see where I would to like plant it and it is possible it is still sitting right where I put it .. lol

looks like it's going to be a pretty day here think I am headed out to find some pine straw to finish mulching the beds.

have a great day everyone.

Black & Blue Salvia

I love this plant & the colors

This is the one I planted last year it was beautiful all summer even in August when most things in Savannah are suffering from the heat

so instead of waiting on rooting's of this one I bought 3 more and planted them in the front bed I bet they are going to make that bed pop.

Shopping with Miss Lois

Well here's today's haul

Shopping with mom is always an adventure..

As I was loading the truck she kept shopping

She told me to yell when the truck was full ... lol

and when it was full she crawled back into the truck and announced

she needed a root beer.

oh and for lunch she had a large chocolate milk shake.

Beth you were missed but then had you gone she would have kept shopping till your car was full :0

Love ya momma

Add all ingredients to blender & puree until smooth.

1 & 1/2 cup of canola oil

Slowly drizzle in oil in a steady stream until emulsified.

Season with sea salt cracked black pepper to taste.

~~~~~~
and because I have some of the first of the crop .. which are SO SWEET
I had to add a little Vidalia onion
hope you enjoy it....
no internet but the garden is looking good
It's amazing what you can get done when you are not hanging out playing on the computer all day.
My internet has been down for a couple of days and at first I thought
OH NO !!! what will I do !!!
Well it turns out I found plenty to do, all the flowerbeds are weeded ... now to get some mulch down before the weeds return.
My little veggie garden seems to have jumped up overnight I have tomatoes about the size of a ping pong ball the cucumbers , squash & peppers are starting to bloom ..
it won't be long now till we will be eating good.
Busy weekend ahead my parents 55 wedding anniversary is Saturday 55 years WOW !!!
and then Mothers Day is Sunday
I'm taking Mom up to Rahn's in the morning for her Mothers Day, and yes Miss Carla the dog is still there but you can bet he will not be getting anywhere near my stuff ... lol
Then Sunday will be spent with the Mother in law I think we are going to spend the day out on the sandbar, grill some steaks and do some fishing .. sounds like fun ...
once again we need rain but sure hope it wait's till Sunday evening.
Thanks to everyone that stopped by while I was playing in the yard.
Karen
I left info on your blog .
A few of my saturday goodies
here are a few of the things I bought Saturday.
I found this stuck in the back of one of the greenhouses it's an Alternanthera that is chocolate & green it is really neat I have done the total purple and the pink one called partytime but have never seen this one before.
I'm thinking it's going to be my plant of the year .. if it holds up through our heat and roots easy then it will be a winner.. so we'll see...
Cape honeysuckle
( I know the picture isn't great )
My new favorite Proven Winners ~ Opal Innocence Nemesia
this smells fabulous, it is soft & old fashion looking .. really really like ...
