It has been raining here for what seems like FOREVER !!!
normal rainfall for Savannah in May is less than 3 inches. We are over 6 inches right now and it's still raining ... Our poor willow tree has almost given up. Look at how much it is leaning even after my dear hubby propped it back up with fence post. I sure don't want to lose it.
Thank ya'll it is a Walking Iris if I had just Googled I would have found all the amazing pictures and info out there now to decide if I want to keep it potted or move to a bed ? Hey I can do both it's a big plant .. oppps I hear chainsaws .. Chainsaws in the rain mean only one thing.. tree fell and has to be moved now ... hang in there Mister Willow !!!
Hope everyone has big plans to have lots of fun this Memorial day weekend. My plans were to do some outdoor painting, visit the Botanical Gardens and the Daylily farm.. Don't think that's going to happen with all this rain. Oh heck I might have to clean house ! No wait there are craft projects calling my name .. lol
Have a safe one ya'll
hugs, Cherry

If you put the Walking Iris in an area where you want it to walk you will have plenty to pot up in no time. Or you can just snip the ends after it blooms and plant that. We are tired of rain here in North Florida too!
ReplyDeleteAnything but house cleaning right Cherry? That's my motto - oh my and it shows too. I've been so busy outside I haven't been getting around to see everyone. I'm trying to be better! ;-) I sure hope your Willow makes it - it is so beautiful and it would be a shame to lose it. Chainsaws - yikes! If rain did that here we'd have no trees at all since it never quits raining!
ReplyDeleteI do hope your willow makes it! Its a very nice tree. It would be a tragedy to lose it : (
ReplyDeleteI'm ready for the rain to stop already too!! Doesn't look like its in the forecast..although there is a tiny bit of sun peeking out behind all those clouds right now!
ReplyDeletenow I see why its called a Weeping willow....it doesn't like the rain....should be called a wimpy willow!!! Hope it makes it. It is raining here as well. Supposed to be raining all weekend. So that means more house cleaning. Its ok...some weekends it is nice to just relax and watch a movie. I can't do that if the sun is shining!
ReplyDeleteCherry -- hope your rain goes away enough for you to play!
ReplyDeleteMy house is in dire need of cleaning... there are more dust puppies than I've ever seen... but, we've been gardening ever since we got back from vacation. With guests coming for Memorial Day, guess I'll have to get out the wicked vacuum cleaner. LOL
have a great holiday weekend!

Have a great Memorial Weekend Cherry! and lets all hope for no rain this weekend! It has not rained in 3 days here so far.
ReplyDeleteI love your Willow tree. I hope it is OK!!
ReplyDeleteSix inches is pretty amazing!! Keep us posted on the willow, it looks like a big one.
ReplyDeleteI have a cross stitch in the front hallway-- A Clean House is a Sign of a Misspent Life.
Being able to get caught up on house cleaning is the only good thing about non-stop rainy weather ... if you can call cleaning house a good thing! LOL I hope things dry up for you soon. -Jackie
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about the tree. That kind of thing happens around here too. Hang in there, sun is coming!
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you, Cherry! Hope your willow makes it. Love that walking Iris, too. Like you, I am ready for some sunshine!
ReplyDeleteCherry it must be soggy to have you willow tree leaning. I hope you can save it. I just love willow trees and it seems you do not see them in gardens as much as you use to. They seem so old fashioned and homey to me. We will all probably be wishing we had this rain in August.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the Walking Iris? I couldn't find a picture with it in it. Guess my cateract is further along than I thought! Can you point it out again?
