Cool stuff or junk

Have you ever just gotten in the car and drove around looking for cool stuff ?
Well that's what my gal Beth and I got to do a week or so ago ..

One minute we were having our morning yacking and coffee session on the phone and the next we were heading out of town looking for nothing more than sharing the day together .. When all of a sudden we see this sign !!

and this funny little guy made from old shovels and golf balls ..lol

and then the adorable tree stumps painted yellow with boots ..lol

an old Studebaker and this Ford truck

and this cute guy with his welcoming wave ..

turns out this place was a jewelery store ... lol

We did find a few thrift stores and a Goodwill along the way and shared a big piece of upside down German chocolate cake which was wonderful .. So wishing I had a piece right now ..

I brought home a really pretty silver bowl and some other stuff including the giant coffee table which I think I have plans for funny how those treasures turn into ... OH no did I haul junk home again after a few days ...

So I guess this is a ... Too be continued post .. I'll let ya'll know if these stuff ends up back at a Goodwill or not.. lol

Have a wonderful Thursday

The Great Backyard Bird Count starts today

it is an annual four day event that engages bird lovers of all ages to help create a real time snap shot of where the birds are across the continent.

Anyone can participate from experts to beginners like me .. For more information you can check out the GBBC website

It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3!

1. Plan to count birds for at least 15 minutes on one or more days of the count. You can count for longer than that if you wish! Count birds in as many places and on as many days as you like—one day, two days, or all four days. Submit a separate checklist for each new day. You can also submit more than one checklist per day if you count in other locations on that day.

2. Count the greatest number of individuals of each species that you see together at any one time. You may find it helpful to print out your regional bird checklist to get an idea of the kinds of birds you're likely to see in your area in February. You could take note of the highest number of each species you see on this checklist.

3. When you're finished, enter your results through our web page. You'll see a button marked "Enter Your Checklists!" on the website home page beginning on the first day of the count. It will remain active until the deadline for data submission on March 1st.

Because it has been so cold and wet around here this winter I haven't been able to enjoy my feeders as much as I like, so I set up a little feeding station right outside the window beside my computer desk. It has been so much fun being able to sit here and watch all the different types of birds come and go and to watch my kitty's they will sit and watch for hours.. Miss Pris 's teeth chatter while she is watching ..lol She wants a bird so bad .. lol

Our windows are tinted so the birds see themselves and start tapping on the window it's like they are saying here kitty, kitty .. lol

is there anything sweeter than the little chickadees ..

Once I started putting out whole peanuts the big blue jays are coming 3 and 4 at a time .. They are really fun to watch they will pick through the nuts till they find the perfect one ..

Have a wonderful weekend everyone take sometime to watch the birds, I promise it is like hot chocolate for the soul ... lol

Our first Garden show for 2010

Woohoo finally something to get the juices flowing again ..lol
January was way to long, cold and wet.. and this girl was glad to see it move on.. maybe February will bring warm sunshine back to Georgia.

How about that glow ball OK don't really know it's proper name but to me it's a glow ball and I want one .. it is made of glass with mini white Christmas lights inside. It looked pretty in the lighted building andI bet it is gorgeous in a flowerbed at night..

It is available at Savannah's Secret Gardens and I do believe I might just have to get over there and buy myself a present for enduring such a yucky January .. lol

I have been helping build a blog for Savannah Secret Gardens and it is starting to look really nice so I thought I would share it, but remember I'm still working on it and I'm not a professional just a friend that's trying to get free plants.. lol .. go check it out and tell me what you think.

and just for fun ... fill a toe sock with some shredded paper and Catnip and watch the kitty's get pissed at each other ..lol.. I had to make one for each so Miss Pris would quit beating up Lt. man every time he walked past her .. lol

Have a fantastic Thursday ya'll
hugs, Cherry
