Let's go see JAS Camellia Trail for ~ Outdoor Wednesday

Friday I wondered into the Bamboo Farm & Coastal Gardens in hopes of doing a little bird watching for the Great Backyard Bird Count and as I started down the trail I became completely mesmerized. The fragrance hit me first then all the Camellia's that are still blooming. I thought I was too late to really get to enjoy any blooms but boy was I pleasantly surprised. Come join me in this beautiful Garden that is being created in honor of one of Savannah's very own ...
No one was more influential in establishing camellia interest in America during the first half of the 20th century that Judge Arthur Solomon from Savannah, Georgia. While many other contributed much to this cause, the Judge was clearly a man amongst men that had a vision far beyond his own lifetime. As a long standing County Commissioner, Judge Solomon made it his personal agenda to lead efforts to beautify the public green space in his home community. All across Chatham County and Savannah are evidence of the Judge’s vision and dream. Camellias, azaleas, and oleander that he was responsible for planting still excite gardeners today. The primary centerpiece of Judge Solomon’s dream was to inspire generations yet to be born with the beauty of nature, especially with his beloved camellias. It is with this foundation in mind that the Southeastern Camellia Society is honored to have our flag ship camellia collection at the Bamboo Farm & Coastal Gardens in Savannah officially named  Judge Arthur Solomon Camellia Trail

The sound of birds stops the noise in my mind.

What beautiful songs the birds are singing this Sunday morning. Are you listening ? Are you counting ? I am doing both but I'm not getting many pictures everyone seems to be a little camera shy, time I walk back in the house 3 big blue jays and a red belly woodpecker show up at the feeders .. I guess they are watching and listening also this morning. Don't forget today is the last day for the Great Backyard bird count so get outside, start counting and have a beautiful day..
