Happy Spring 2013

It starts to feel like spring and then it gets chilly again,

but that's OK it's coming it won't be long
 and we will be wishing for cooler weather again..

I thought today would be the perfect day to share the lovely flowering peach trees that we saw while visiting Magnolia Plantation and Gardens a couple of weeks ago they were so pretty..

HGTV Dream House 2013 ~ part 2

Heading upstairs to the third level.

The light fixture was pretty.

These built in bunkbeds are on the landing

we loved this idea..

Other than an outdoor shower that's it... that's your 2013 Dream Home.

Miss Di of Musings asked what was my favorite room...

Well the truth is not one room stood out. I never had a WOW moment
Maybe HGTV spoiled me with their  

2004 dream home down in St. Mary's, Georgia

Now that was a dream home it was filled with art by local artist. 

It had a beautiful path and dock to the water with million dollar views from almost every room. Even after almost 10 years the way it was decorated still works today.

Visiting the HGTV Dream House 2013

My girlfriends and I left Savannah on a Friday morning

 heading out to see and do everything we could from here

 all the way to Isle of Palms in 36 hours...
First stop The Dream House
 on the beautiful Kiawah Island, South Carolina..

as you can see the house is 3 levels..
Here is the second level which is the main living area

first thing we saw upon walking in was the living room
 with the dining and kitchen off to the right.
The lighting was fabulous windows and doors everywhere.

Powered room..  I liked the lime green strips but the other girls didn't..

the gate was cool it was above the fire place.
 I don't think any of liked the fireplace though

The Angel Oak

Johns Island, South Carolina

While on our girlfriends escape last weekend

 we visited Johns Island, which is the largest island in the South Carolina

where we found this magnificent live oak

as you can see it is an old giant

the beauty of it was almost over whelming.
 While visiting I was in awe of it, but once I sat down
 and started going through my pictures
 is when I really realized just how magnificent it really is.

I love this shot because it shows just how
 big the limbs are compared to the gentleman in the shot

the branches sprawled all over the grounds.
They had stakes and ties to help support the massive limbs

With all the rains we have been having the
 resurrection ferns were pretty and green.

it looks like the perfect fairy tale tree

If you go to Charleston make sure you stop by and visit Johns Island

 not only did we see this beauty we also visited the 

Irvin House Vineyards and Firefly Distillery and had supper at The Fat Hen.

My favorite herb grower Sea Island Savory Herbs is also on the island 

but it was to cold and early to stop by.

I plan on making a quick trip back 

just as soon as they let me know the tomato plants are ready to sell.

Palmer Home B&B Charleston, South Carolina

This past weekend my besties and I did a quick trip
 to Charleston, South Carolina
 to tour the HGTV 2013 Dream House
 which I will be sharing but first I had to share
The Palmer Home B&B 
it's all pink and beautiful

I can only imagine how spectacular the view
 of the Charleston harbor must be from one of these balconies 

it is a private home and has been in the same
 family for three generations

Oh the stories a home like this could tell from mint juleps afternoons,
pirates, major storms and tea parties I bet it has seen them all
